Canada Esports Announces Partners for Commonwealth Esports Championships; Unveils Jersey Design

7-Eleven Canada, Jack Link’s and RYU will support Team Canada on the global stage

Birmingham, UK (August 3, 2022) - The Canadian Esports Association, in collaboration with TGS Esports, is excited to announce the partners for Team Canada at the upcoming Commonwealth Esports Championships.

The Championships are a pilot esports events for the Commonwealth Games through the partnership between the Global Esports Federation and the Commonwealth Games Federation, and will be held this weekend, August 6-7, in Birmingham, UK.

7-Eleven Canada and Jack Link’s will be Canada’s premier partners and is featured on the team’s jersey.

Team Canada will compete in Rocket League, with teams of three contending in an Open category and a Women’s category.

The Open category has the St. Clair Saints representing with a roster featuring Josh ‘Comp’ Byrne, Ben ‘Spoods’ Talbot, Josh ‘Jay’ Podruzny, and Bailey ‘Nitryx’ Lamont. The Saints path to the Championships started by winning the 7-Eleven Canadian Collegiate Championships in March followed up by finishing as the top Canadian team at the 7-Eleven Canada’s $8K Open tournament in late April 2022.

The Canadian Women’s Rocket League team will include Victoria ‘Mush’ K., Ghini ‘Avenger’ S., and Carlee ‘Kiaa’ E. ‘Mush’ was a winner of 7-Eleven Canada’s Charity Challenge in April 2022.

7-Eleven Canada will be presenting a content series featuring each of the athletes representing Team Canada.

In late July fans were able to give Canadians a first look at these players all together, during the Commonwealth Esports Championships Primer, a show match presented by 7-Eleven Canada and Jack Link’s.

RYU, a cutting edge, Canadian lifestyle brand, will be providing Canadian athletes, coaches and associates a range of products to support their needs, through travel, competition, and recovery.

The Commonwealth Esports Championships can be viewed on the Global Esports Federation Twitch channel (twitch.tv/gef) or YouTube channel (youtube.com/c/GlobalEsportsFederation) and a Team Canada Watch Party will be held on TGS Esports channel where you can win 7-Eleven Canada’s, Jack Link’s and RYU prizes, along with a limited number of Team Canada jerseys (twitch.tv/thegamingstadium).
