7-Eleven Canada Debuts First Licensed Restaurant In Winnipeg

December 16, 2024, Winnipeg, MB – 7-Eleven Canada is thrilled to announce the expansion of its licensed restaurant program to Winnipeg. Of-age guests can now pair their meals with chilled beer, wine, cider, and ready-to-drink mixed beverages in the remodeled dining area at 3031 Ness Ave. The Ness and Sturgeon location was selected for the first licensed restaurant given the strong local demand for 7-Eleven’s extensive fresh and prepared food and beverage menu.

7-Eleven Canada’s menu includes local favourites such as Crispy Classic Chicken, made fresh in-store daily: wings, strips and sandwiches as well as seasoned potato wedges, pizza hot from the oven in minutes – 24/7, Big Bite hot dogs, hot and cold sandwiches made in-town and delivered fresh daily, crispy taquitos, and more.

“We’re excited to bring our innovative foodservice model to Manitoba with the launch our first licensed restaurant in Winnipeg – home to so many passionate 7-Eleven fans,” said Marc Goodman, Vice President and General Manager, 7-Eleven Canada. “Our local guests can enjoy a comfortable space to dine-in and gather with friends.”

"We're delighted to see 7-Eleven launching their first licensed restaurant for Winnipeg in Assiniboia. Innovative business concepts are great for customers and create jobs for people in our community,” said Kristi Meek, President and Executive Director, the Assiniboia Chamber of Commerce. “The 7-Eleven location is already a convenient spot, and now locals will have a new community destination to eat, drink and socialize."

“7-Eleven Canada is a strong contributor to communities across Manitoba and to the province’s food service industry with its diverse and growing food and beverage menu,” said Kris Barnier, VP Central Canada, Restaurants Canada. “We congratulate them on bringing Manitobans their first licensed 7-Eleven restaurant, a model already in place in Ontario and Alberta, that serves as an important part of their strategy for innovation and growth.”

The Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Authority of Manitoba issued a General Liquor Service Licence for the 3031 Ness Ave. on June 3, 2024.

All staff at the Ness and Sturgeon location have received Smart Choices Certification and all alcohol products are stored under lock and key, accessible only to employees. 7-Eleven Canada has a strong age-restricted sales policy and program in place, its own beverage alcohol and foodservice training, limited hours of operation for beverage alcohol, and additional safety controls, including IDing anyone who looks 30 or younger.

With a food order, beer, wine, ciders and RTDs (no spirits) are available for dine-in and take-out between 11:00 am and 11:00 pm, seven days a week. Home delivery is available, through Skip The Dishes, daily from 9:00 am to 11:30 pm.

7-Eleven’s first Manitoba location opened in 1969. Today, 7-Eleven Canada operates 50 locations in communities across Manitoba and employs over 600 team members.
