Calling All Canadian Creatives! Bring Your Own Cup Day Returns to 7-Eleven Canada
April 8, 2025, Surrey, BC – 7-Eleven Canada is slurping into Summer early with the return of its fan-favourite Bring Your Own Cup (BYOC) Day, featuring April’s exclusive Slurpee flavour: Fanta Blue Raspberry. On April 11 and 12, 7-Eleven Canada invites customers to unleash their creativity and get the most bang for their buck by bringing in an innovative “cup” for their preferred Slurpee beverage.
“Maybe it’s the nostalgia for spirited and playful imagination, but there’s something about Bring Your Own Cup Day that always gets me excited. It is amazing to see the high level of creativity that is produced year after year, from Canadians of all ages,” says Marc Goodman, Vice President and General Manager of 7-Eleven Canada. “Last year’s highlights included flower vases, cooking pots, trophies, blenders and kettles. If you can dream it up, you can fill it up.”
The contesting rules are simple. The “cup” can be anything under the sun, but it must:
1. Fit within 26cm diameter when full.
2. Be food-safe and clean.
3. Be watertight/leak proof.
7-Eleven Canada has been giving Canadians brain freeze since 1969, with the nation devouring Slurpee at a rapid rate, regardless of the temperatures outside. In fact, Winnipeg, Manitoba has been the Slurpee capital of the world for 20 years running; its residents have consumed enough Slurpee to fill 12 competition size pools!
BYOC Day is the perfect opportunity for Canadians to embrace their favourite frozen beverage, show off their colossally clever “cups” and enjoy the exclusive Fanta Blue Raspberry flavour, which coincidentally, is Canada’s favourite colour of Slurpee.
7Rewards Members earn 711 Bonus Points on BYOC days, in addition to being entered into the daily contest for $711. Canadians can also enter to win free Slurpee for a year by posting a photo with their “cup” on social media, including the hashtag #SlurpeeBYOC on April 11 and 12.
